Class of 2009 Graduation Televised LIVE on Channel 8
Newport's
annual high school graduation ceremony was televised live from the
Town Common on Tuesday evening, June 16. An all student
production crew led by junior Perry Langill and including Alec Kimball,
Paul Mataruso, and KRHS student Nate Perez had full responsibility for
the production, which is an annual highlight in Newport

Board of Directors Meet, Approve Proposed FY2010 Budget
A regular
meeting of the NCTV Board of Directors was held on
Wednesday, May 6, at 5:00 PM at the NCTV Studio in the Lou Thompson
Community Room at the Sugar River Valley Regional Technical
Center at NMHS. The major agenda item , the
proposed budget for the 2009 - 10 fiscal year, which begins on July 1,
2009, was presented to the Board by Executive Director Jeffrey
Nintzel. The income and expense plan looks forward to income of
$60,750 and expenses of $57,950, leaving an anticipated fund balance of
$2,800. After some discussion, the Board members present --
Cathryn Baird, Elaine Frank, Holly Harrison, and Benn Boulton -- voted
to decrease the projected income by $250, leaving a projected surplus
of $2,550. The amended proposal passed unanimously. Other
current Board members are Peter Franklin, David Hoyt, and Rich

Introduces NCTV Downtown - Channel 8
Newport
Community Television is now presenting municipal programming on
Comcast Cable channel 8 in Newport. Programming originating
live from downtown Newport sites including the Municipal Office
Building, Town Hall (Newport Opera House), and Town Common will be seen
on live Channel 8, and digital recordings of town meetings will be
presented. Channel 8 is the second of three
channels that are available for cable
access under the
Federal Cable Act.

Production Tutoring
Newport
Community Television offers tutoring in video production for community
members who have an interest in video camera operation and digital
editing.
From handheld camcorder to NCTV's professional studio equipment, you or
your organization can learn how to make video productions to tell your
story.
