NCTV News and Programming Notes:


World's Largest Concert to be Televised on Channel 10

Belinda Stout, Music Educator in Newport's elementary schools, will be leading her students in performance in The World's Largest Concert, an annual program offered by The National Association for Music Education.  The World's Largest Concert has been the highlight of Music in our Schools Month since 1985.  As a song-along concert that links students around the world through music, the WLC reaches an estimated six million students and teachers each year.  People across the United States and abroad have participated on the second Thursday in March at 1 P.M. Eastern time for the past 25 years.   Tune in to sing along on Channel 10:  Thursday, March 11 at 1:00 PM!

Two New Directors Appointed to NCTV Board

Rick Watts and Bob Collins were recently appointed to the NCTV Board of Directors by the Newport Selectboard and the Newport School Board, respectively.  Two of the seats on the non-profit corporation's seven-member Board are appointed by the Town and School District.  Holly Harrison and David Hoyt previously held the positions.

Two Directors Elected at NCTV Annual Meeting

Peter Franklin and Holly Harrison were elected to the Board of Directors of Newport Community Television, Inc. at the annual meeting on January 12.  Mr. Franklin, a long time Board member, was elected by the Board, and Harrison, formerly the School District representative, was elected by the membership to replace Benn Boulton, decided not to serve on the Board after a long and fruitful term.

NCTV Offers Video Production Tutoring

  
Newport Community Television offers tutoring in video production for community members who have an interest in video camera operation and digital editing.  From handheld camcorder to NCTV's professional studio equipment, you or your organization can learn how to make video productions to tell your story.  Contact Jeff Nintzel at 863-8837 to learn more. 

Program Presenter Opportunities

NCTV receives potential programs from various organizations, and offers opportunites for community members to present these programs on Channel 10.  Currently available programs include IN THE FIGHT, a military-themed program about current battlefields  If you would like to preview these programs and possibly present them on channel 10,  contact Jeffrey Nintzel, Executive Director (863-8837).
