Polls are open from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM, in Newport Town Hall (Opera House)

Newport Town Deliberative Session to be Recablecast on NCTV

Newport's first ever Deliberative Session under procedures outlined in New Hampshire's Official Ballot Law (RSA 40:13) -- often referred to as Senate Bill 2 -- was televised LIVE from the Newport Town Hall, also known as the Newport Opera House, on Tuesday, April 8.  Under the Town Warrant approval process adopted at Newport's 2007 Town Meeting, the warrant articles as proposed by the Selectboard,  as well as petitioned articles, were publicly discussed and finalized at the Deliberative Session, and will be voted on during all-day balloting on May 13.  The recording of the hour -and-a-half meeting -- considerably shorter than previous Town Meetings -- will be periodically reshown on channel 10 prior to voting day.  Tune in to the Community Calendar for program days and times.
